The Rotary Track Meet is one of the largest high school track meets in Michigan. The event alternates each year between the St. Joseph High School and Benton Harbor High School track fields.
“This is a very unique track meet, as well as one of the largest in the State of Michigan. One of the unique aspects is that all participants will compete with each other, no matter the size of their school district. This popular event features athletes from 33 schools in Berrien, Van Buren, and Cass Counties, and each will have an opportunity to showcase his or her talent,” states Rotarian Rick Villa.
Scholarships are offered annually to graduating seniors from Berrien County high schools; the current amount totals $8,000, four scholarships of $2,000 each. The first scholarship was awarded in 1977, and to date, this effort has provided tuition scholarships to the college or university of the recipient’s choice for over eighty students.
Each year the Club also honors someone that has dedicated him or herself to helping our community youth as well as their tireless commitment to this track meet.
